Photography in travel and the candid reminders of children at play

When words become obsolete and distant, the world of travel turns to capturing raw images of uncomplicated forms and reflections. It is an extension of a new dimension untapped to the human psyche, but sustained in the art and form of candid moments. Photographs. Still images. Raw, unedited frame of existence; Of one’s mind and the very being and in the moment- there and then, it becomes an obvious substitute for the silence, awe inspiring, breathtaking view and the candid joy of a child at play. The world of art and light painting. The genuine smile that radiates.

I am generous about writing words, speaking little but processing hundreds of joyful frame lines from within my photographs. The art of travel interwoven in culinary experiences. The broken conversation of language barriers are instilled and a desire in me to capture without hesitation. Only the belief of wanting more to collect the unstinting smile and, or a flicker of a tungsten narrow alleyway that leads to a corridor of culture and tradition. Tap that with small children and their desire to find a place in that frame line, that genuine play, letting go of inhibitions, of prejudice. That is what life is about. To finding the true child within, lost in a sea of culture and belief that does not discriminate. It becomes this home and a welcome hospitality of,. really a commonality.

Travel transforms you. Your children who accompany your leisure will teach you more of life than the small corner of life’s paradoxes and box. Don’t be fooled by misconceptions and culturally standard ties to hold back for the right age and time. It is obvious enough that we decay sooner than we know. This age and time brittle our existence from the exponential pressure of life, political polarities and the dangers of sedentary food we ingest in our minds. WHEN is a common question but WHY NOT should be the substitute to discuss when traveling with children.

The camera is a tool that is misused. Abused. Or worse, neglected. What I mean is not the mere volume we spend to take photographs, but the monotony and redundancy of our self indulgence. In one space, to ourselves. We should price to gather photographs of children at play, the culture that’s thriving, the beautiful colorful sarong worn by a tribe’s men, or the conversation when partaking in a delicate exotic dish celebrated by an ethnic and culturally diverse group of people.

Travel is a form of play. A healthy submission to a culturally rich world we live in; Of wonderful people and their generous ideas of hospitality and equality. Travel defies confinement. It is a habitual mantra to research on the individuals and character we meet that introvertly and retrospectively look into our own existence and individuality- to find commonality and family. To become a child again, fostered in a nurturing space and a rich diverse sea of ideas waiting to be dissected and shared. Capture those moments in time. In the food you eat. The gestures you share. Capture the child within that is hidden and tucked away because of false boundaries. Unearth the joy that’s set to catapult if only you took that first step and chance in time. Become the child that’s curating ideas of innocence. Bring your children and travel the world, one food dish, one culture, one awe inspiring historic place, one vendor selling in a fruit stand, one sawadikap, one embrace of relative and family at a time.

Be blessed. This world is full of that. Dust off and bring the camera. Enjoy the journey. This website runs on a lot of caffeine. Thank you for supporting us.

Thank you for the coffee!
